Tom hosted a party in his Kuwait apartment and told Holly's friends to bring her along.

Can you spot Tom in the picture trying to play it cool?

First Date

October 2020

The first date was the evening after the party where Holly and Tom shared their love for lebanese food and Froyo!

Moving In

April 2021

Holly and Tom moved out of the accomodation provided by their school and started renting their first home together in Abu Fatira.

Paddles

The true love of Tom's life joined them in September 2021. Paddles brings them both so much joy, even if she does wake them up crying for food at 5am every morning!

The Proposal

FAQ

Questions

What is the food and drinks situation?

We would love to buy everyone a drink, but we can't! Therefore, a paid bar is available at the venue. You'll be fed throughout the day from canapes, BBQ sharing platters to evening pizza.

Can I bring a plus one and/or my children?

Due to limited places, only those listed on the invite envelope should attend. If there is any confusion, please ask us.

What is the dress code?

Formal attire is welcome, but please leave white, or outfits which are mostly white, to the bride.

Can we take pictures?

Yes - we would love to see as many pictures as possible. However, please do not post anything on social media before we do. Please also limit photography of the ceremony to ensure those behind you do not have to watch through your phone screen.

We have booked a photographer and videographer.

What is the gift situation?

The only gift we ask for is your presence to celebrate with us. However, if you insist on a gift please consider a donation to our honeymoon fund. Due to limited luggage space on our flight a couple of days later, we don't want to risk having to leave anything behind.

Also, even though we love bubbly, please remember that we can't take it back to Kuwait with us!

Do you suggest any local taxi companies?

For those guests staying at The Shireburn Arms, we will provide a free shuttle to and from the venue (times to be confirmed a couple of days before). However, there are plenty of free parking spaces at Hobbit Hill.

Alternatively, three local taxi firms based in Whalley are:
Beez Private Hire - 01254 888288
Tiger Taxis - 01254 247777
Whalley Cars & Minibus - 01254 888111

Please book in ahead of time.

Will there be anything for the children?

We have booked a local company who provide entertainment and care for children specifically for weddings and other events. The ladies, who are fully qualified childcare practitioners and follow ofsted adult:child ratios, will be happy to entertain the children in the adjoining ceremony room once the meal is over until approximately 20:00. Adults and children are free to come and go as they please!

What if it rains?

We plan to hold the ceremony outdoors. However, if we are not graced with the lovely northern sunshine then everything will move indoors.

Can I bring my dog?

The Shireburn Arms have two or three dog friendly rooms - please let us know in advance if you are planning on staying there and require a dog friendly room. However, please note that dogs are not permitted at Hobbit Hill.

If you have a question that is not covered above, please contact Holly or Tom.
